Fall Harvest

I always think of  farmer’s markets as summer activities. Here in Minneapolis, our summer is long gone, so you can imagine the raised eyebrow I gave Ken when he suggested we go to the farmer’s market on a chilly Saturday earlier this month. To my surprise, the Minneapolis Farmer’s Market runs in full force through mid-November, and it’s packed with the freshest fall harvest. Here are some shots from the day:

We came home with loads of fresh fall vegetables with the idea of making Barefoot Contessa’s yummy Winter Minnestrone Soup for dinner. This hearty, piping hot soup was the perfect antidote for October’s falling temps.
