Like most fur baby owners, I consider my tuxedo cat, Gideon, to truly be a member of the Francois Family. My first born, if you will. But between the cat hair, litter box, and dirty paws (he gets supervised backyard play time) he rivals my 1-year-old in impressive mess-making. These two have a knack for it, really.
When it came to my cleaning routine, I knew there was a lot of room for improvement, and this so-called ‘routine’ needed to be easy and attainable, or I’d never stick to it.
While I do essentially follow these guys around the house with the vacuum and/or spot-cleaner, I only commit to the ol’ mop and bucket routine every few months, because A. Who has the time and patience for it? And B. I mopped floors as part of my first job as a kid, and I’m pretty sure all that mop did was smear dirty water around.
Anywho, I’ve always wished I was one of those people who was more on top of their cleaning game, which is why I agreed to test drive BISSELL’s new CrossWave Pet Pro Multi-Surface Cleaner. (I almost never blog about products specifically, but when I saw what they designed CrossWave to do, I had to try it.)
Get a load of this: It’s a single tool that washes your floors while it vacuums–all in one step. BOTH hard floors and area rugs. Yes, AREA RUGS! The reason I jumped at trying BISSELL’s CrossWave is I knew that when it came to my cleaning routine, there was a lot of room for improvement, and this so-called ‘routine’ needed to be easy and attainable, or I’d never stick to it.
I’ve been using CrossWave Pet Pro for the past 2 months as my everyday floor cleaner, and from cat hair (CrossWave’s brushroll is tangle-free for hair up to 8” long) to rogue baby food, it’s handled everything we’ve thrown at it so far…literally. All the while, I’m putting forward no more time or effort than if I was running the vacuum around the house. The area rug cleaning feature is what really caught my attention. I love layering hardwood floors with big area rugs, and though I’ve mastered the art of cleaning small rugs in my tub, the only other option for cleaning big area rugs is to schlep them to a professional cleaner, and pardon my French, but that sucks. Area rugs are heavy, and reputable cleaners are expensive. CrossWave Pet Pro’s smart touch controls make switching between the hard floor and area rug modes easy, and their specialized cleaning formula is safe for pets + kids, containing only biodegradable detergents. On a more personal note, our cat, Gideon is a rescue kitty that my sister-in-law found underneath her car attempting to stay warm by the engine when he was just a few weeks old. He’s been such a wonderful, sweet and quirky addition to our family, and it’s heart-breaking to know there are so many animals like Gideon out there that need homes.
All to say, I’m a BIG believer in adopting over shopping for pets, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that BISSELL is too. In fact, for every CrossWave Pet Pro purchased, and then activated on bissell.com, BISSELL donates $10 to BISSELL Pet Foundation to help every pet find a loving home. So far they’ve impacted the lives of over 140,000 animals. Pretty incredible.Despite their messy ways, I’m pretty attached to both my first born, Gideon, and his baby sister, Sylvia. They’re not going anywhere! And my area rugs are like my 3rd, 4th, and 5th babies, so I’m happy to find a tool that makes cleaning up and caring for my prized rugs easier too.As for Gideon, I can’t say he always returns our undying love sentiments, but he sure is a good sport!
