You may have seen a white-glove-sporting kitten making an appearance in some of my Instagram photos lately. So today, I’m excited to finally introduce him. Meet our 5 month old fur baby, guest contributor and project model that you’ll be seeing around these parts every once and awhile, Gideon Francois! Ken and I weren’t necessarily in the market for our first kitty just yet, but when my sister-in-law mentioned she was looking for a home for a gregarious, tuxedo kitten she found hiding underneath her car down in Kansas, Ken and I both looked at each other and I asked jokingly, ‘is it time?!’ After hearing what a great family cat he was around our playful 3 year old nephew, and their 2 big hunting dogs, we offered to take him even without meeting him. Looking back, that was kind of a risky move, but thankfully it all worked out. He’s a playful, but oh-so-cuddly kitten who’s always got his tuxedo on, ready for his close-up! Hey Guys and Happy Monday! The apple and cherry blossoms were all abloom this weekend in the North Loop and the scent was incredible, not to mention stunning! Stave off cabin fever this January with these genius (and affordable!) handmade projects from the DIY blogging community. This marbled phone case from The Merry Thought is beyond! I cannot wait to try out their technique. Hint hint: it involves nail polish! Ever passed up a recipe because it called for rosewater (and you had no idea where to find the stuff?) Well pass up that recipe no longer with this tutorial for homemade rosewater from Sweet Disasters. I’m crazy for these gilded oyster salt cellars from Design Sponge. Oh so glam. Cozy up with the Colorblock Bias Blanket tutorial from Purl Bee. From the color palette to the tassles, it’s spot on. Remember this game as a kid of the 90’s?!? 5 awesome projects from the creative blogging community that could easily be made this weekend! I’ve been outbid on many a vintage marble tray on Ebay, so I think it’s time to just make myself one! Almost Makes Perfect shows us how it’s done. Add a bit of autumnal glam to your home by gathering fallen branches in your backyard and painting them gold. (Via Maureen Stevens) I love the simple design of this genius utensil rack made from wire rebar found at the hardware store! (Via A Beautiful Mess) Need an area rug, but can’t afford the price tag? Make your own by stitching together smaller (and more affordable) ones. (Via Apartment Therapy) How cute are these woolen elbow patches from Honestly WTF? Needle felting is where it’s at!
