It was a sad Thursday last November when my laptop decided it was the end of the road and crashed, taking with it about 6 years of travel photos, most of which my tech guy couldn’t recover. (A painstaking lesson in backing up, if I do say so!) Luckily, I also use my iPhone quite a bit for snapshots when we travel and some of my all-time favorite photos are ones captured through Instagram. So I was really kind of pumped to find Inkdot, a group of fellow Mid-westerners (Chicagoland), who are turning those favorite Insta snapshots into art, getting them off your iPhone and into your home where you can enjoy them in a more meaningful way. Surprisingly, iPhone photos an be blown up to any size so you can even create large scale, focal art with your snapshots if you like. The other cool thing is they print on innovative materials like wood and metal, which add another layer of depth to the prints. The carousel shot we captured near the Eiffel Tower in Paris is printed on the wood substrate and the ink is slightly pearlized. It’s tough to see in the photos, but it’s so pretty […]

Typically, I’m a neutrals girl when it comes to wardrobe and home, but there’s something about this time of year, that makes me crave color– the dirt-covered city snowbanks are diminishing, my sanding-salt-cured leather boots are feeling all too familiar, and I’m overcome with the desire to see the flower buds bloom and the green grass peek through the earth. When I think color, Christopher Farr Cloth is quick to spring to mind. Their interior and exterior printed and woven textiles for the home celebrate pure, saturated, happy colors and playful patterns that breathe energy into any space–a welcomed influence more so than ever this time of year. 1. Peonies | 2.Intaglio | 3.Linoto | 4. Meander | 5. Inside Out Christopher Farr Cloth is to the trade and can be sourced locally through Blended Blue in Minneapolis.

Today I’m headed to Chicago for the Brentano National Sales Meeting, and I couldn’t be more excited! Brentano Fabrics is a contract, hospitality, and residential textile line I have the pleasure of repping to the Minneapolis design community at Blended Blue. Chances are, if you’ve visited a restaurant, healthcare facility, or casino in the US within the last 10 years, you’ve probably sat on furniture upholstered in Brentano fabric. Brentano’s fabrics are gorgeous, but also extremely durable and performance driven, which make them equally suitable for both commercial and residential applications. The next few days will be a fun opportunity to spend time with the brilliant team behind this innovative line, as well as continue to expand my knowledge and understanding of the ever-evolving Brentano brand. Brentano, here I come!
