This post has been sponsored by Hallmark Gold Crown. Thank you for supporting the brands I love that help me keep the inspo flowing directly to your inbox! All thoughts & opinions are my own. When it comes to Mother’s Day, I leave the card-making to the experts at Hallmark Gold Crown. However, as a DIY’er to the very core, I find it hard to resist adding my own personal stamp on the card so that it’s 100% uniquely tailored to my Mom! With May 8th just around the corner, I thought I’d share some mini DIY ideas for making store-bought cards extra personal for Mother’s Day, as well as thoughtful gift pairings from Hallmark Gold Crown to round out the celebration. (Hallmark’s Mother’s Day Gift Guide makes it easy!) If you, too, are looking for fresh and simple ways to help Mom feel the love this year, these store-bought card hacks are for you! Let’s get crafting… DIY #1: Add a Patterned Liner to the Card’s Envelope Pick up some pretty patterned gift wrap along with your Mother’s Day card (I’m really loving this Sugar & Cloth Happy Banner Card!), and make a fast and simple liner for the […]

Remember those old school buttons that radiantly proclaimed, “I Am Loved”? My Grandma gave me one when I was little, and somehow the phrase always stuck with me. Such a simple phrase with a clear message. Since the phrase “I am loved” is not the most appropriate phrase to write on your valentine’s valentine, I modified the phrase to read “You Are Loved,” and layered it on a pink ombre card with gilded cursive lettering, because who doesn’t love a gold and pink ombre card on V-day? Print them out, add a hint of gold leafing and hand out to your faves! Materials: “You Are Loved” template printed on white 8-1/2″ x 11″ cardstock Scissors Extra fine point gold Sharpie paint pen Gold leafing pen Ruler White notecard envelope, 4-3/8″ x 5-5/8″ 1. Print out the template and cut out card along light grey lines. Don’t cut the center grey line, this is the spine of the card. 2. Starting with the extra fine point Sharpie, trace the light grey letters. Follow up with the gold leafing pen for more metallic shimmer. 3. Place ruler on top of the face down card. Bend the card upwards using the light grey […]
