Busy Parents Unite! Get in on these 10 time-saving mom hacks to help make your routine a tiny bit more efficient and streamlined! This post is sponsored by Cascade Pure Essentials. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Since becoming a mom, I don’t think I’ve ever felt so perpetually short on time—time for my family, myself, friendships, housework, etc. Moms (and dads) out there I’m sure can attest that there are seemingly never enough hours in the day. Needless to say, this time-saving mom hacks post is more than two years in the making. It’s a master list of ideas from fellow new mom friends, as well as tips I’ve learned out of personal necessity. Many are about saving time, and others are about putting systems in place so we have less swimming around in our heads at any given moment, a.k.a less to remember at the drop of a hat. I’m coming at this post as the mom of a two-year-old who’s trying to keep all her plates simultaneously spinning, but these hacks are really for anyone looking for ways to spend as little time as possible doing mundane weekly tasks. So, without further ado, let’s dish, eh? […]

This post has been sponsored by BISSELL ® . All thoughts and opinions are my own. Like most fur baby owners, I consider my tuxedo cat, Gideon, to truly be a member of the Francois Family. My first born, if you will. But between the cat hair, litter box, and dirty paws (he gets supervised backyard play time) he rivals my 1-year-old in impressive mess-making. These two have a knack for it, really. When it came to my cleaning routine, I knew there was a lot of room for improvement, and this so-called ‘routine’ needed to be easy and attainable, or I’d never stick to it. While I do essentially follow these guys around the house with the vacuum and/or spot-cleaner, I only commit to the ol’ mop and bucket routine every few months, because A. Who has the time and patience for it? And B. I mopped floors as part of my first job as a kid, and I’m pretty sure all that mop did was smear dirty water around. Anywho, I’ve always wished I was one of those people who was more on top of their cleaning game, which is why I agreed to test drive BISSELL’s new […]

Kitchens, by design, are nearly entirely hard, wipeable surfaces, so I love the warmth and texture vintage rugs bring to these kinds of spaces. I have two Persian rugs that I switch back and forth with in my kitchen throughout the year, and whenever I post photos of my kitchen with the rugs on Instagram, I often get the question, ‘Doesn’t your rug get spilled on?!’ or the comment ‘You’re so brave to put a vintage run in your kitchen!’ To answer that question…Uh-huh! Little spills and food are ground-in weekly; dare I say daily? Earlier this year, I was removing a BIG family size, take-and-bake pizza from of the oven, and accidentally flipped the ENTIRE pizza upside down on the rug pictured above. Ugh, cue near meltdown fueled by starvation. After running back out to order another pizza, tasking Ken with removing it from the oven this time, and devouring it at warp speed, we took the rug downstairs to rinse it off in the laundry area. I’ll spare you the saucy details, but obviously rinsing off the rug didn’t cut it. So how the heck do you clean vintage rugs anyways? The rug is from Kim Gunter’s rug […]

Is cabin fever starting to set in at your place? I can say without a doubt it’s definitely setting in over here. With the arrival of Bébé S in earlier this year, we’ve been harder pressed to get out of the house more so than we are most years. Bitter cold temps = extra bundling + planning. Amidst learning how to finesse our newborn parenting skills, let’s just say we aren’t getting out quite as frequently. As Winter restlessness grows, and Spring cleaning becomes more and more appealing, I thought it might be the perfect time to share the piece I contracted with Curbly & Lampe Berger Paris on late last year on how to make sure your home smells amazing. The post is packed with everything home scent related including: The Psychology of Scents How Scents are Made How Scent & Memory are Related Tips for Removing Unwanted Smells DIY Home Fragrance Ideas What Your Home Fragrance Says About You Ways to Incorporate Fragrance into Your Home Decor So if like me, you’ve got Spring Cleaning on the brain, go check out the post for all ways to make sure your home smells as good as it looks!
