My mom introduced me to a fitted and feminine apron pattern by Amy Butler a few years ago, and it’s been my go-to pattern ever since because the finished apron is quite professional looking (if I do say so!). It calls for top stitching on some of the seams (which you can totally skip), but I think those kinds of little details add that je ne sais quoi to handmade gifts. The pattern is Amy Butler’s Domestic Goddess Apron Pattern. And I’d consider it an intermediate pattern in terms of difficulty because of the darts and top stitching, but if I can do it, you can do it. For the non-experienced sewer (like me), it just takes reading the steps slowly (and a few times)! It’s totally worth the DIY though. The fabrics shown here are 100% cotton Riley Blake, “Delighted” in Cream and Green, available through Lee Lollipop Couture.
