5 genius projects I’ve got my eye on as of late… I’m so in love with Merrythought’s hanging bedside table! Inspiring is what it is. Add color and pattern to your walls with stencils and paint! Royal Design Stencils has us covered with the most gorgeous stencil pattern options. (These are not your mama’s stencils from the 90’s!) Do you collect mermaid tears (sea glass) like I do? Put them on display by incorporating them into a mobile or wall hanging. This one is from Rubbish Revival’s Shop, but you can make your own with a little nylon cording, a piece of driftwood, twine, and your sea glass collection! I love these beachy Striped Rug pillows from Martha. She walks us through her easy-peasy process here. Caitlin at Merrythought makes an appearance a 2nd time this post with her DIY hanging chair. This woman is talented–check her out!

Sometimes I think the best days are the ones that evolve naturally with little or no planning or calculation to them. And the following Saturday after we came back from Europe happened to be one of those days. I woke up early that gloomy Saturday morning, made a pot of french press and made myself comfortable with my laptop. It was an amazing trip abroad, but I was glad to be home nestled on our sofa and slowly working back into the everyday. I jumped on Pinterest between emails and blog planning and decided I wanted to cook something–it had seemed like forever since I’d done anything in my kitchen! We had picked up Boursin Cheese on our first stop at the grocery store, so I thought it would be fun to make something to go with it. I decided I’d use Martha Stewart’s Thyme Crackers as inspiration, as we happened to have all the ingredients already, (I’d picked up cream earlier that week for another project I’m working on!) but since I only have a mini food processor, and it’s not large enough to accommodate the recipe, I used my Kitchenaid mixer instead and it worked great! I also used a blend of fresh herbs […]

I’m fascinated by the way people live. From a person’s daily routine to their clever storage solutions to the tools they use to rock the daily grind with flair and efficiency. Here are a few of my personal routine favorites: one: The french press is critical to our morning routine. We love the strong coffee it brews up for us. two: We have quite a small galley kitchen where counter space is definitely lacking, so we swapped our bulky, counter top knife stand for a wall-mounted magnetic knife strip and happily reclaimed our coveted work space. three: We refer to La Tartine Gourmande Cookbook whenever we’re stuck in a food rut. Her recipes are not only delicious and fresh, they often include unusual ingredients like amaranth flour or saffron, and they inspire us to try something new. four: The amazing mandoline helps me thinly slice just about anything like a pro in seconds. five: Not only do we use trays for entertaining, but also for corralling books and magazines on our coffee table, as well as for special breakfast-in-bed mornings. six: I received this quirky wine opener as a gift several years ago. It’s extremely durable and not to mention a great conversation starter […]
