Happy Friday! We’re in the thick of wrapping up our kitchen renovation and working on getting it photographed to show you guys, but in the meantime, I’m moving into the dining room for a moment. Schoolhouse Electric Co. | West Elm | West Elm | Bellacor | Anthropologie | Chairish The hanging fixture in the dining room (that came with the house) is a drum shade with craftsman detailing. It’s okay, but a bit on the boooor-ring side, so I’d like to switch it out for a satin brass chandelier with potentially mid-century styling. I’ve been doing a bit of visual research on dining room chandeliers, and here are a few of my favorites in all price ranges. Do you have a favorite? Enjoy the weekend ahead! Follow

When we moved out of our old apartment last October, we donated our tired, mismatched outdoor furniture, and now are starting from scratch with our new outdoor space this year (Yay!). With summer so close we can almost taste it, I want to get our patio furnished so that we can enjoy it to the max all season long. I think our 620 sf apartment will really feel the spacial boost, once the 70 sf patio is ready to go! One of the schemes I came up with is inspired by the vibrant, summery color and mid-century charm of Palm Springs. Would it not be fun to hang out here this summer? Here are the sources for this look. Does anyone have a favorite outdoor furniture source? Please share! 1. Black and White Zigzag Pillow // 2. Black and White Stripe Pillow // 3. Pink Pillow // 4. Sun Shade // 5. Rattan Loveseat // 6. Potted Palms // 7. Gilded Planter // 8. Watering Can // 9. Palm Lumbar Pillow with Pink Piping // 10. Round Bistro Table // 11. Cafe Dining Chairs

Living room coffee tables in small spaces wear many hats. They function as drink perches, game tables, casual dining tables, craft tables, etc. and our coffee table is no exception. Our new small(er) square shaped living room was calling for a downsized, multi-functional table with not only a smaller footprint, but one that visually felt lighter too. (Previously we had an old train cart which we still love, but there was just no squeezing a rectangle into a square.) So when brainstorming what exactly our new coffee table should be, I dug into my DIY happy file and pulled out a Martha Stewart Living article I’d torn out and filed away for a rainy day. The spread was called Table It, and they highlighted several sources for DIY-ing your own table with crazy cool “legs” you can find online. I landed on the unfinished 16″ danish table legs from tablelegs.com, and then sourced a 30″ round tabletop from a kid’s pink activity table that I found for peanuts at The Salvation Army here in the North Loop. The table was in rough shape, but after removing the base and spray painting the top with an Appliance Grade White Epoxy Spray Paint (to make it super durable and wipeable), […]
