Do you guys remember The MPLS/ST.PAUL Magazine’s Home & Design 100 Feature from last Fall? If you’re not from the Twin Cities or just tuning in, the Design 100 is a collection of the top 100 people, products and places who are making style waves in the Twin Cities’ home and design world, and I was somehow lucky enough to be included! You can read more about it here and here. The ridiculously talented and kind, Eliesa Johnson, was the editorial photographer for the story, and she recently shared a recap of the Design 100, as well as sent me a ton of outtakes from the morning she spent snapping photos at our North Loop apartment last September. Thank you Eliesa! Here are a few highlights from our shoot. Also, make sure to check out Eliesa’s full story recap right here. Save Follow Save Save Save Save Save Save Save Save

Eeek! Recently I had one of those crazy, blue-moon, pinch me experiences when I found out I’d been included in Mpls.St.Paul Magazine‘s Home & Design 100 Issue! Yes folks…M-S-P-MAG! Their Home & Design 100 features movers and shakers (people, places, and products) that are making a splash in the Twin Cities home and design world, and I’m super freaking humbled and excited to be included alongside some of Minneapolis’ most talented creatives like Richard of Aubry Angelo and Ashley of Ashley Mary.At the time of the shoot, we had just begun moving from our North Loop apartment (pictured) to the duplex we had recently closed on in Tangletown, so half of our things had already been boxed and moved. Though it was a cah-ray-zey chaotic time, it all kind of worked out as it made it super easy to pair down and edit our place for the shoot. Ken snapped a few photos during the interview with associate editor, Taylor Selcke in our living room. Notice Baby Gideon? Tuckered out from all the action, was he.Until next time, have a great day!

Wow, what a crazy week it’s been. I feel like I plopped down my suitcase in our apartment on Sunday night (after flying home from Chicago), blinked and it was the next weekend! Reflecting on the few days we spent in Chicago, one big thing I took away was how much I really enjoyed and appreciated the locally-owned shops we visited for their commitment to originality, as well as, their support for independent designers and artisans. With sky-high rent and big box competition, I’m sure it’s not always easy being the little guy or gal on the block. So now that we’re back home, I’m motivated more than ever to really explore the local, inde shops Minneapolis and St. Paul have to offer. To start, there 3 main shops on my “Must Explore List,” (and honestly I’m a little embarrassed I haven’t been yet) but as they say, better late than never! The Foundry. 125 N. 1St St. Greater Goods. 2515 Nicollet Ave. S. Mille. 316 W. 48th St. Do you have a favorite local boutique? Please share! Photo via MSP Mag.
