Novice crafters will love this easy, no sew cafe curtain video tutorial. Make a window curtain using hem tape and an iron. No sewing machine needed! Over the summer we painted over the sad beige that the previous owner painted EVERY room in this house, and went with a clean, white color (Behr, Simply White to be exact). The window curtain we had in here at that time was white cotton and after painting the room, the room read kind of flat. Everything was white, and we needed contrast. Last fall, I found the most beautiful amber linen on Etsy, and it catapulted me into maker-mode. Time to update that window curtain! Our bathroom faces our neighbor’s dining room, and fellow city dwellers–you know how close city homes can be! At the same time, the bathroom only has one window, and we need that delicious natural light in here, so I stayed with the same style curtain: a cafe curtain. You just can’t beat the natural light above, and privacy below. If you are NOT a sewer, this tutorial has your name written all over it! If you ARE a sewer, simply swap out the hem tape & iron […]

Today, I’ve got the EASIEST way to create throw pillows for your place. Don’t own a sewing machine? No problem! There’s not a stitch of sewing involved, nor really is there much cutting either. You see, they’re made using pre-made fabric napkins, which makes working up these no-sew envelope pillows a snap. If you can cut on a folded line, line up fabrics, and do some basic ironing, you’ve got this! The pillow’s moody floral pattern I spotted at Anthropologie (in the form of a napkin!) was love at first sight, and I thought it’d be a good transitional pattern as we move into Fall. The pillow backings are plain, affordable navy napkins from World Market, and the tutorial is one of my contributor pieces for Sugar & Cloth this month, so head on over for the full know-how! Check out all my Sugar & Cloth tutorials here!

I’ve long been a fan of the “It’s OK” banner by Secret Holiday Co. Her affirmation banners are so simple with positive messages, and with Thanksgiving just about here, I decided to create a few banners for our place inspired by Secret Holiday Co, and centering around messages of thankfulness. I’ve been really into the awesomeness that is iron transfer paper lately. Exhitbit A & B. And have come to find this transfer paper works the best in terms of transferring the image with the most clarity. Just sayin’ not all transfer papers are created equal. Just sayin’. I especially love the way the “Choose Gratitude” banner came out, so I might keep it up year round hanging above our bed. Head over to Homedit for the tutorial! SHOP THIS SPREAD Recycled Glass Wine Carafe | Large Cake Dome | DIY Cheese Tool Set | White Flour Sack Napkins | Marble Pastry Slab | Brass Tongs are Vintage (But find a similar pair HERE!)
