I love the season switch from Summer to Fall primarily for the reason that it provides new parameters for DIY projects. #diyobsessed? Maybe. But it’s how I cope with the 8 months of Winter that will inevitably grace us with it’s fa-reezing presence after Fall. Summer is passing and cooler weather, the warmer wardrobe, autumnal colors, and Holiday gatherings, will be moving in, so let’s rock Autumn with these great DIY’s du Jour! Get your closet organized for Fall with this ingeniously simple hat rack by A Pair and a Spare DIY’ed from simple hardware store materials. Love! This diy string art from Sinnenrausch is beyond beautiful. I love the way the nails act like delicate jewelry accents highlighting the brushwork-esque string work. How gorge would this be with an an autumnal color palette? I seriously want to try this! Alright, so this DIY is not exactly Fall related, but it was too cool not to include! DIY du Jour: Grid Pattern Projects

Initially when I saw the grid motif showing its pretty face in fashion and home goods this year, I had an immediate and uncontrollable flash back to the 80’s grid pattern that was so prevalent 30 years ago. It wasn’t EXACTLY my favorite back then, but this time around in 2015, I can’t seem to get enough of it. So what changed? I think it’s the high contrast black and white duo which is bright, modern, and an excellent structured compliment to watercolor-y color palettes we’re seeing everywhere right now. Bring on the grid! Stave off cabin fever this January with these genius (and affordable!) handmade projects from the DIY blogging community. This marbled phone case from The Merry Thought is beyond! I cannot wait to try out their technique. Hint hint: it involves nail polish! Ever passed up a recipe because it called for rosewater (and you had no idea where to find the stuff?) Well pass up that recipe no longer with this tutorial for homemade rosewater from Sweet Disasters. I’m crazy for these gilded oyster salt cellars from Design Sponge. Oh so glam.
