I don’t think we’re out of the woods yet with winter weather, as I saw a snowflake on our 5 day forecast, but since yesterday was “technically” the first day of Spring and the farmers markets in Minneapolis open their proverbial doors in less than a month, I’m starting the week with Spring on the brain. And this canvas tote upgrade is a great project to kick things off with. I try (and usually forget) to bring reusable bags to the grocery store, but for some reason I always make sure we have a tote when hittin’ the farmers market, so I don’t have to take plastic bags for each type of produce. If you too like slinging a cute tote à la farmers market, make sure to check out the gilded canvas tote tutorial I created for SheKnows using a craft store canvas bag and some gold paint. Have a great week! Get ready for Farmers Market Season with this easy canvas tote upgrade. Follow

Yep, this bag is made from a rug. This killer (and affordable!) rug to be exact. I made myself a carpet bag because A. I think carpet bags are dope, and B. Every year I end up toting my Holiday gifts to gatherings in disposable plastic bags, and every year I think what a shame it is that the gifts I spent so much time wrapping up with pretty paper and ribbon make their way to their intended giftee in a lack luster plastic grocery bag. No more! Not this year. I saw this Nate Berkus rug at Target, instantly loved the pattern, and knew it would make a great carpet bag. I had fun with this project because since you don’t cut the rug edges, there are no raveling yarns to wrastle with. Just hand sew up the sides, add a handle and boom. Done! Scoot over to SheKnows for the full tutorial and tote your gifts in style this year! Follow

Happy Friday! In preparation for our move to the new house, I’ve been attempting to pair down things I no longer use or need. Amidst the donation-fest, I came across an old plain, metal bracelet I hadn’t worn in ages that had been hiding at the back of my vanity. Instead of adding it to the donate pile (like I’d usually do with something I haven’t worn in over a year), I decided to test out a colorblock painting technique to see if I could give it a little facelift. Turns out a little painter’s tape and spray paint worked wonders transforming this lack luster number into a statement bracelet for Fall. I think my favorite part is that this project cost a grand total of $0.00 as I had the paint and tape on hand already. (The perfect project for a broke new homeowner!) Head over to SheKnows for the detailed step-by-step! Follow

Happy Monday! I hope you had a fantastic weekend. Today I’m talking tattoos here on F&M. I’ve never made the plunge into the world of real ink, because I haven’t been able to find THE tattoo that I know I’ll love for. ev. er. But I’m all about tatting up with temporary tattoos, especially for summer, as they make great accessories to sundresses and sandals, and are a fun, commitment-free way to celebrate summer in style! #nostringsattached These little numbers are as easy as printing on tattoo paper and applying with a damp cloth. Head on over to SheKnows for the printable and all the details. Happy Tatting! Follow
