Looking for ways to involve your little ones in Halloween decorating? Make these 3D paper spiders which use little hands as the template. Click on over! It wasn’t until my daughter, Sylvia, came along that I really began celebrating Halloween. Becoming a parent has helped me see the cooky, spooky fun through her eyes. Now it’s become a bit of a personal mission to find ways to make it special for our family, especially this year. She’s 2-1/2 and is starting to grasp the concept of dressing up and all the “eerie” things that make up Halloween. I say “eerie” in quotations because, come on. She’s 2, and it’s more about fun than actual fright! BTW, she told me she wants to dress up as a ballerina kitty cat, which I think sounds super doable, so hopefully it sticks until the big night! As I was scheming what I could make with Sylvia to decorate the house, I came up with 3D paper spiders that use toddler fingers (or anyone’s fingers!) as the template. She loves helping me with projects, and I love sharing my love of making things. We went to Tuesday Morning for supplies because I knew they’d […]

I’m 50% Swedish + a mixture of Norwegian, Finnish and English in that order for the other 50%. So I always have my eye out for new Scandinavian decor and traditions we can include in our Holiday celebrations. This year I made a candle wreath to hang in the window, inspired by the Santa Lucia Crown, which gives off a warm glow a midst our short Minnesotan winter days. The brass hoop adds modern styling, and the eucalyptus smells ridiculously good! Find the brass ring here, candle clips here, and the mini candles here!To make the wreath, you’ll simply wire eucalyptus sprigs to the brass hoop with floral wire, clip on the candle, and add a leather hanger. Skip over to Homedit for the entire tutorial!Note: While the candle holder is quite stable once it’s clipped over the eucalyptus and hoop, the candle is much more of a decorative component to the wreath’s overall Nordic design. If you do light the candle, watch it carefully. If left unattended it could be a dangerous fire hazard. Follow

October & November were particularly heavy contributing months for me (where I was busy creating content for other brands), but I’ve got a little break in the action and want to share a round-up of non-traditional Holiday wreath projects that have been building up on my Hollidazzle Pinterest Board over the past month. Which one is your fave? I’m torn between the Minimalist Hanger and the Asymetrical. Orange & Olive | Minimalist Hanger | Cake Topper | Paper Straw | Feather | Asymmetrical Check back in same time next week for another Holiday-themed round-up: Sweet Treats!
