Red Lip Phase

I picked up Covergirl’s Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in Ruby Twist on a whim while out in Salt Lake City this summer, because I had the urge to try an orangey-red lip color, and I was not disappointed with my point-of-sale purchase. In fact, this product has, without a doubt, catapulted me into a “red-lip phase,” and I’ve proudly been sporting red lips on an almost daily basis.

Though it’s called a balm, it’s really more of a creamy, semi-opaque lipstick that is pretty long wearing. It’s not quite as sheer as the name suggests, but the texture is smooth, not sticky and it’s easy to apply. I’d compare it to Clinique’s Chubby Stick, but at a more affordable cost. The color is bright, and statement-y, and that’s exactly what I was looking for. If you’re looking for a red lipstick for upcoming Holiday parties (or even everyday use), you might want to give this one a try!
